Bibimbap

Filed under: Asia, Business Travel, Korea

On the second day of our lunch, I took a bold move to snap pictures of the food served (even in the presence of our business suppliersemoticon). Kinda regretted not taking the pics of the food on the first dayemoticon..which was quite nice (with prawns and fish somemore)

Anyway, we were served the common Korean food….the Bibimbap which comes in the gray claypot and served with rice topped with condiments of 5-6 vegetables and 1 meat. Our suppliers treated us quite well too; served us a couple more of side dishes as well.

Look at the spread….since I didn’t get to capture them individually ( I couldn’t have everyone waiting on me to startemoticon), so just a brief preview…from top left (hidden behind the claypot) was the pork dish, pumpkin with red dates and honey, their vege and shrimp pancake (in omelette style), hot chilli paste and at the bottom right, a bowl of cold seaweed soup.

After lunch, we were served this drink….made of rice. (We had Korean ginseng tea on the first day!emoticon)

I noticed this drink on the first day when we were in Namdaemun, and I thought it was some Korean barley…until the Koreans explained to us….it actually tasted like barley drink anyway, quite nice and refreshingemoticon Guess it also has the cooling effect as herbal tea.
