After having breakfast in the hotel (free breakfast), we walked to the MRT station again, intending to take the train to get to shopping areas. Me at the fountain near hotel…nice walkway by the way
Behind me, the Macdonald’s House
At the main interchange station; so lucky to stay there…. Dhoby Ghaut… (reminds me of KL, my hometown…the times I took the train:p)
We reached Orchard Road (yeah, I went to the shopping paradise street in Singapore:p) quite early and so, we window shopped; walking and browsing through most of the closed stores - taking a peek here and there and rubbing our noses onto the window (okay, it wasn’t so dramatic:p)
Big Toy…reads Centre Point…hehe
Got bored of walking around and waiting, so we went off to another place. Famous place everywhere…Chinatown!!
Look at the happy little Angelstar!:p However, it was drizzling and thus it was wet..but a really nice weather on the first day for us to do shopping and yeah, lots of walking:p
Anyway, we did enjoy shopping there…stuffs were cheap but there were a lot of Chinese nationals (not local Singaporean Chinese). They really hail from China and they were the ones selling the stuffs at such low prices. I really mean it’s cheap; even with conversion:) Then we stopped by for a light snack and a drink at one of the stalls.
Though it was already 12noon, I was surprised when they told me they were still serving breakfast. Haha…so I opted for a drink and some light snacks to go. Look, Avocado drink….and the soursop (not nice at all)
The Avocado is kinda rich in texture; a little creamy…I couldn’t take too much but I have to admit, it’s nice
Singaporean Popiah…..darn expensive…SGD2…. If seafood, wow, SGD4…almost 8-10 bucks in MYR for popiah…*faints*
Leaving Chinatown…couldn’t resist to take one pic at the entrance to the MRT station again… Hey, I wasn’t the only one k? There were Indians and other tourists doing the same thing:D
Next destination, we were in Clarke Quay! Famous place…quay is always associated with boats….
The famous riverside….hehe, more and more pics of me:p
Those behind me were the night stalls…a stretch of seafood restaurants and food stalls there…across the other side.
Did some shopping in this shopping mall near Clarke Quay; can’t remember which one and then later in the afternoon; about 3.30p.m- 4p.m, we went to the Esplanade and the famous Merlion walk.
It was actually the area overlooking the Singapore River
Look at the boat…this is the boat making the tours for tourists along the river.
More foreigners compared to locals/Asians:p
On the bridge itself; lots of people walking and hanging around. There’s even fishing! Sighs, cruelty to the poor fishes:( Can you see the Esplanade in the background?
Me, looking tired; in front of the Esplanade….I have been walking the whole day!!!
Mini Merlion for me take pictures with before I reach the BIG Merlion:p
The famous Merlion….now my desktop wallpaper at work:p
How can I miss out this opportunity to pose here and there near the significant Merlion? It is a sound proof that I am here in Singapore…haha, the Lion City!
Last one with Esplanade…. We had our dinner at Lau Pa Sat Food Court which caused us to walk for so long until our feet ached that time and was so tempted to hail a cab:p
Night view…back in Clarke Quay…
Fountain outside this exquisite and high class hotel:)
Tired…that’s the end of the first day!! My feet ached so much by the end of the day…really tired….ZZZZZ
